Responsibilities

• Performs technical tasks associated with the localization of tumors.
• Reviews dosage calculations for accuracy prior to radiation treatments; delivers prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation to patients undergoing therapy.
• Observes and reports changes in patient's condition to Lead Radiation Therapist.
• Records treatment administered on patient's chart.
• Prepares examination room; explains procedures and assists patients in preparing for examination or treatment.
• Reviews set-up of equipment and patient positioning.
• Assists other radiation therapists in planning treatment involving the use of dosimetry procedures and isodosing curves.
• Monitors adherence to radiation safety factors on the unit.
• Maintains equipment in safe and satisfactory working condition; stocks and replenishes supplies as required.

Requirements

• ARRT Registered (Required).
• Florida State License.
• BS or AS graduate from accredited RT School.
• 2 - 5 years experience in healthcare environment.
