Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Aid in the day-to-day operations of the radiation therapy department.
- Support clinical staff in enhancing patient care, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate across departments.
- Assist with direct patient care, including treatment, delivery, and simulations.
- Maintain productivity, teamwork, and patient care skills among employees.
- Act as a liaison between clinical departments within and outside the Cancer Center.
- Ensure proper staffing and coverage for radiation therapists and dosimetrists.
- Track and provide feedback on quality measures, assist with preauthorization and billing processes.
- Participate in project development and execution related to radiation oncology.
- Represent Cancer Services at committee meetings and liaise with other departments.
- Develop and execute a Cancer Services marketing plan.
- Assist with writing and finalizing program reports, marketing materials, announcements, and correspondence.
- Ensure effective procedures are established and followed to maintain productive relationships with referral sources and managed healthcare systems.
- Assist with yearly budget activities as directed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct.
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, resident, employee, and organizational information.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees.
- Address complaints and resolve problems under the direction of the Director.
- Schedule and coordinate staff meetings.
- Approve and monitor timecards for accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 3 years of leadership experience or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field of study with three years’ experience in a clinic setting; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Ledger experience preferred.
- Current BCLS certification.
- ARRT registered in radiation therapy with State of Iowa Radiation Therapy permit.
- Ability to create a caring, compassionate relationship with patients and families.
- Expertise in handling sophisticated medical equipment.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to carry out assignments with minimal supervision and guidance.
