Radiation Therapist Lead
Position Summary
The Radiation Therapist Lead provides leadership, training, and guidance to lower-level staff, supports the supervisor, and performs complex and specialized radiation oncology work. Operates various treatment machines in the department, utilizing them to treat patients in a consistent and caring manner following the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription and the treatment plan as set up in simulation and dosimetry. Assists the supervisor in identifying problems, recommending solutions, and assisting in the improvement of technical and patient service programs. The Radiation Therapist Lead has significant responsibility for the efficient operation of the treatment delivery work area, communicating and coordinating daily operations with medical staff and residents, nurses, physics and dosimetry, and ancillary services.
Experience
- 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist is required
Certification/Licensure
- BLS: Basic Life Support is required upon start
- Licensed in Radiation Therapy by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) with certification in Radiation Therapy ARRT (T) is required
