Role Overview: The Staff Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation in the Radiation Oncology Department, delivering precise therapy in accordance with physician prescriptions. They operate radiation equipment safely, perform complex procedures, and assess patients' needs, considering age-specific care. Key Responsibilities Participate in Quality Control monitoring and ensure accurate treatment delivery.Perform patient assessments, document in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and educate patients and families on treatment side effects and aids.Ensure safety protocols are followed, including proper patient setup, radiation safety measures, and universal precautions.Manage patient mobility, monitor for adverse reactions, and report issues promptly.Assist with patient simulation, scheduling, and adjustments, always communicating changes effectively.Contribute as a clinical instructor for students, evaluating and providing feedback.Perform additional tasks as assigned, including participation in on-call rotations. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of an Associate's degree or related accredited program.ARRT-T - ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required at hire.At least 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.Ability to treat and simulate patients confidently. Core Attributes: Demonstrates technical proficiency, attention to safety, adaptability, and patient-centered care. Must adhere to all policies and standards of conduct.
