Radiation Therapist FT

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments to a diverse patient population in accordance with physician prescriptions. Responsibilities Operate radiation-producing equipment safely, performing precise technical procedures.Participate in Quality Control monitoring to ensure treatment accuracy.Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialty care tailored to age groups (adolescents, adults, geriatrics).Document all procedures accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and aids.Ensure proper patient setup, simulate treatments, and schedule patients appropriately.Follow safety protocols, including radiation safety badge use and universal precautions.Assess patient mobility, manage fall precautions, and report discrepancies or equipment issues.Participate in on-call rotations and serve as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluations and feedback.Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and codes of conduct. Qualifications & Skills Associate degree or related field from an accredited program.ARRT-T (Radiation Therapy) certification and BLS certification required upon hire.Minimum two years of radiation therapy experience preferred.Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.Strong technical skills and attention to safety procedures.
