Responsibilities

The Radiation Therapist administers radiation therapy treatments to patients under direct supervision, ensuring accuracy in positioning the radiation beam and delivering the prescribed dose. Key duties include:

• Accurately delivering and recording radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
• Entering and maintaining patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record.
• Participating in the clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
• Assisting in maintaining the patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
• Cutting blocks and making custom molds when applicable.
• Completing simple MU calculations and interpreting computerized treatment plans.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
• ARRT certification required.
• Valid state license for radiation therapy.
