Radiation Therapist
Overview
The Radiation Therapist will assist with the daily patient flow of the Radiation Oncology clinical location, evaluate/develop new processes for patient care, and assist with other activities to improve Radiation Oncology operations. According to established procedures, they will treat patients with prescribed doses of ionizing radiation using specialized radiation equipment. They will prepare treatment rooms, explain procedures to patients, position patients, administer treatments, monitor patients during therapy sessions, simulate patient treatment according to the treatment plan, and deliver prescribed doses of ionizing radiation.
Qualifications
Current Radiation Therapy license issued by IEMA Department of Nuclear Safety
ARRT Radiology registered or successfully completed ARRT Radiology registry within 6 months of hire
Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and equipment operation, and of physics and patient care techniques at a level acquired through an approved program in radiation therapy technology
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, allied health personnel, and other Medical Center personnel when explaining procedures and gathering/exchanging patient-related information
Analytical skills necessary to provide accurate care instructions to patients, interpret physicians' prescriptions for treatment course, and effectively duplicate treatment plan

Pay
Expected pay for this position is $39.13 - $51.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
