About the role

UNC Health is currently seeking a clinically oriented, board-certified or board-eligible Radiation Oncologist to join our cancer care team at UNC Health Appalachian.

Responsibilities

  • Support radiation oncology services in Boone, NC.
  • Work closely with medical and surgical oncology colleagues across our center.
  • Join a collaborative team working on structured disease-site programs in thoracic, breast, GI, GYN, and GU oncology.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards, robust patient navigation, and access to clinical trials through our partnership with the main UNC campus in Chapel Hill.
  • Utilize advanced technology including SRS/SBRT.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology.
  • Experience in clinical practice preferred.
  • Strong collegial partnerships across specialties.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Current license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Radiation Oncology.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial protocols.
