About the role

The candidate will be part of a growing and dynamic multi-disciplinary team at Edwards Cancer Institute, a large multi-specialty practice group at Marshall University Health System.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • Offer NCI-sponsored and industry-supported clinical trials
  • Utilize advanced technologies such as BrainLab and Varian TrueBeam for stereotactic treatments
  • Lead an active high-dose-rate brachytherapy program

Requirements

  • MD or DO Board Certified/Board Prepared
  • Experience in gynecologic oncology preferred

Practice Info

Edwards Cancer Institute is a large multi-disciplinary practice group at Marshall University Health System. The cancer program is growing and developing due to the merger of two hospitals in Huntington, Cabell Huntington Hospital and Saint Mary's Medical Center. The program offers NCI-sponsored protocols as well as some industry-supported trials. There are multidisciplinary tumor boards in gastroenterology, sarcoma, breast cancer, lung cancer and gynecologic oncology. The BrainLab program is used for stereotactic treatment to the brain and spine, and the Varian TrueBeam is used for other stereotactic treatments. There is an active high-dose-rate brachytherapy program.

The town of Huntington, West Virginia contains the Medical Center and its associated hospitals as well as the main University. There are many amenities within the city while allowing for a relatively low cost of living and easy commuting. The resident population is approximately 50,000+. Huntington is family-friendly and has a moderate climate. Good schools are available both public and private. The town is serviced by two regional airports – Huntington (HTS) and Charleston (CRW), with a 2-hour drive from Lexington, Columbus or Cincinnati.
