About the role
The Fred Hutch Division of Radiation Oncology seeks qualified candidates for its two-year Mentored Faculty Physician Scientist Program in Radiation Oncology (MFPSP-RO). A successful applicant will be an MD or MD/PhD who is committed to pioneering major advances in medical practice through research.
Responsibilities
- Develop a research project under the guidance of a FH RO faculty mentor.
- Participate in outpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic at Fred Hutch Cancer Center's South Lake Union Medical Center on the Fred Hutch campus.
- May be clinically active beyond observation status, be ABR board eligible or certified in Radiation Oncology.
- Must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
- Eligible for unrestricted licensure in the state of Washington and an acting instructor appointment at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Qualifications
- MD, MD/PhD or foreign equivalent, Completion or in the final year of residency in Radiation Oncology.
- Demonstrated track record of academic achievement, including relevant publications.
- Demonstrated interest and clinical or laboratory accomplishments in cancer research and/or radiation biology research.
- To be clinically active beyond observation status, be ABR board eligible or certified in Radiation Oncology.
- Graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
- Eligible for unrestricted licensure in the state of Washington and an acting instructor appointment at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
