Associate Dosimetrist - Radiology Oncology
About the role
The dosimetrist shall perform services requiring substantial knowledge in anatomy, radiation physics, radiation biology and radiation therapy technique. The dosimetrist is an active participant in the treatment planning and is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of treatment plans generated.
Responsibilities
- Treatment planning
- Dose calculations
- Troubleshooting of treatment machines and patient set-ups
- CT simulation supervision
- Assisting physicians (where appropriate)
- Participating in the Quality Improvement program
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program for Certified Medical Dosimetrists.
- Within 1 year of hire: National Certified Medical Dosimetrist - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree: Graduate of a Radiation Therapy program.
- 2 years in lieu of a Bachelors degree required to have a minimum of 2 years related Dosimetrist experience.
- 2 years Registered Radiation Therapist prior to attending a dosimetry school.

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
