The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.
Responsibilities
- Teaching, training and mentoring of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, visiting physics residents or trainees from other institutions or other countries
- Participating in resident didactic series, both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant
- Evaluation and management of patients diagnosed with cancer
- Delivery of radiation therapy-related care
- Treatment of various disease sites
Requirements
- M.D. degree
- Board Eligible or Board Certified for the American Board of Radiology
Clinical environment
This position is located primarily at the Pennsylvania Hospital site (800 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107). Penn Radiation Oncology delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, partial breast irradiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac). Patients also have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, which houses the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room.
