Duties And Responsibilities

• Captures all necessary information for new patient assessments and schedules new patient treatments.
• Conducts skilled nursing assessments to evaluate physical and emotional status of patients and communicates findings to physicians.
• Prepares patient and equipment for physician exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Provides health-related education and counseling to patients on topics such as self-care, side effects management, and post-treatment care.
• Triage patient inquiries and relays them to the appropriate physician.
• Develops strategies to solve patient care problems with the patient care team.
• Coordinates patient care for treatments and ensures timely follow-up appointments.
• Monitors and documents patient progress during care.

Qualifications

• Current LVN license issued by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or LVN licensure.
• At least 1-3 years of radiation/oncology experience or oncology certification preferred.
• Acute care nursing or coordination of care experience required.
