Duties And Responsibilities
- Captures all necessary information for new patient assessments and schedules new patient treatments.
- Conducts skilled nursing assessments to evaluate physical and emotional status of patients and communicates findings to physicians.
- Prepares patient and equipment for physician exams, treatments, and procedures.
- Provides health-related education and counseling to patients on topics such as self-care, side effects management, and post-treatment care.
- Triage patient inquiries and relays them to the appropriate physician.
- Develops strategies to solve patient care problems with the patient care team.
- Coordinates patient care for treatments and ensures timely follow-up appointments.
- Monitors and documents patient progress during care.
Qualifications
- Current LVN license issued by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or LVN licensure.
- At least 1-3 years of radiation/oncology experience or oncology certification preferred.
- Acute care nursing or coordination of care experience required.
