LVN

AKUA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of California. New graduates are welcome to apply; must have passed NCLEX. Mental health, detox, and residential drug and alcohol treatment experience preferred.

About the role

The LVN works under the supervision of the Clinical Director, maintaining professional standards and following the treatment policies of the organization, The Joint Commission, and Federal/State Laws and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all medication as ordered by the Medical Director, Program Physician, and maintaining accurate accounting of all medication received and observed.
• Safekeeping of all medication stock and maintaining records required by the DEA, FDA, JCAHO, and ADP.
• Training all clinical staff about medications, observation of medications, and medication destruction.
• Conducting all detox assessments including CIWA, COWS, vitals, etc.
• Maintaining all medical documentation in the EMR, including physician notes and medication orders.
• Responsible for urine collection and processing in conjunction with clinical technicians, reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians, and completing all related forms.
• Coordinating all internal and external medical and lab appointments.

Requirements

• LVN/LPN license (required).
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification (required).
• Valid California Driver’s License (required).
• Current health screen (required).
• TB clearance (required).

Pay

Base salary: $35–$37 per hour.

Schedule

Thursday–Monday, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm.
