Radiation Health Physicist Junior

For our radiation services community of practice, that means using innovative approaches to provide economical client solutions for complex environmental solutions. We’re seeking a Junior Radiation Health Physicist to support projects for primarily our Navy and uranium mining restoration clients, though our portfolio is broad, and many other clients and projects are included.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate soil, groundwater, surface water, or sediments in environmental projects that may be executed under EPA, NRC, Agreement States, USACE, or Tribal Agency authority.
• Perform investigations, risk assessments, feasibility studies, engineering analysis, remedial actions, and closures for projects involving radiological assessments and remediation.
• Implement radiation safety practices and maintain radiation protection programs during project activities.
• Characterize radiological materials in various matrices and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to writing clear reports and justifying technical decisions to help clients obtain regulatory and community acceptance.
• Develop and lead projects, gaining experience in both technical and project management areas.

Requirements

Must have experience in environmental projects that evaluate soil, groundwater, surface water, or sediments. Projects could be executed under EPA, NRC, Agreement States, USACE, or Tribal Agency authority and may include investigations, risk assessments, feasibility studies, engineering analysis, remedial actions, and closures. It is expected that field tasks would be required and may include performing surveys and assessments.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Radiation Health Physics or Nuclear Engineering.
• Experience with Navy environmental and remediation programs.
• 2 to 5 years of professional health physics experience preferred.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
