About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Radar Validation Engineer to support the validation, testing, and integration of radar-based sensing systems used in advanced vehicle platforms. This role will serve as a key member of the hardware organization, supporting radar testing activities, fleet issue investigations, supplier coordination, and test infrastructure development.
Responsibilities
- Hardware & Sensor Validation Support validation and evaluation of radar hardware and firmware across development and fleet programs.
- Execute structured and unstructured vehicle testing to evaluate sensor performance and system functionality.
- Investigate and troubleshoot radar-related issues identified in vehicle fleets, serving as a first point of contact for hardware concerns.
- Assist with next-generation radar evaluations and characterization activities.
- Support thermal testing efforts to validate new sensor trims, housings, and enclosure designs.
- Analyze test results and document findings, defects, and recommendations.
- Test Development & Automation Develop and improve radar test setups, fixtures, and test methodologies.
- Create and maintain automation scripts and tools to increase test efficiency and coverage.
- Support development of gimbal-based radar testing systems and automated validation workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define test plans, procedures, and success criteria for new hardware.
- Vehicle Testing & Program Support Coordinate and schedule vehicle testing activities, including test site reservations, vehicle logistics, and documentation.
- Support execution of test campaigns and ensure required equipment, vehicles, and resources are available.
- Aid in rapidly changing and ad hoc testing requests across multiple programs.
- Supplier & Hardware Operations Manage warranty return and RMA processes with radar suppliers.
- Coordinate failure investigations and hardware analysis activities.
- Track and document returned components and support communication with suppliers regarding hardware issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in hardware testing, sensor validation, systems testing, or related engineering functions.
- Experience working with Linux-based systems in a laboratory, embedded, or vehicle environment.
- Experience working with Ethernet-based devices, ECUs, or networked hardware systems.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and sensor-related issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with limited direction.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
