Rad Rep Scheduler - SDI Imaging - Day Shift - Full Time

Hours: 8-hour shifts (8/40), start and end times variable between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Pay

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position: $25.550 – $31.860 – $35.680 per hour. Actual pay rate and pay grade will depend on years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Imaging Services Department by scheduling complex imaging procedures for all imaging modalities.
  • Obtain all necessary documents for scheduled procedures, including correct imaging order, CPT and billing codes, medical records, labs, images, and results.
  • Coordinate scheduled procedures with surgery and anesthesia services when indicated.
  • Communicate scheduling dates and times with patients and ordering physicians’ offices.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service consistent with Sharp HealthCare’s mission and goals.
  • Book imaging cases for all modalities: Cat Scan, Interventional, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, EEG, and general exams.
  • Verify orders contain all required information: authorization, diagnosis and CPT codes, current history, date/time, physician signature, patient demographics, correct order/body part and side, current medication list, and history/physical/office notes.
  • Fax next-day procedure schedules to multiple departments (CV2, SPA, 5S, CPPC) for bed placement.
  • Pre-register patients, ensuring correct demographics and creating visits with current insurance and authorization information.
  • Coordinate patients with multiple procedures ordered for the same day across all modalities and departments.
  • Gather documents for Radiologist review to confirm procedure appropriateness.
  • Communicate with outside offices to obtain correct documentation prior to scheduling.
  • Coordinate and schedule anesthesia services with surgery schedulers.
  • Inform patients and/or their designees of scheduled procedure dates and times.
  • Coordinate patient consultations with appropriate Radiologists.
  • Notify leadership and staff of special requirements on patient orders.
  • Assist in arranging patient transport as needed.
  • Operate scheduling and order-entry systems accurately and effectively.
  • Schedule procedures/exams in appropriate rooms, modalities, and time slots, avoiding conflicts with shared resources.
  • Ensure same doctor and same-type cases follow in the same room when possible.
  • Close rooms appropriately and seek assistance from Imaging Leads for extraordinary room utilization.
  • Identify and resolve problems proactively to meet department objectives and improve quality of care.
  • Work additional or different shifts as needed.
  • Take responsibility for one department task beyond routine duties.
  • Submit written recommendations for process changes or cost-containment suggestions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the role.

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer skills, including accurate operation of scheduling and order-entry systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to perform duties according to specific written and/or verbal instructions and maintain accurate scheduling documentation.
