Imaging Scheduler Full Time

About the role

The Imaging Scheduler is responsible for the prioritization and scheduling of patient examinations and patient instruction concerning preparation and timetable. This position is also responsible for answering phones and directing calls as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for examination and gives instructions regarding exam preparation.
• Captures emergency and add-on examinations with technical staff and radiologists.
• Prioritizes patient examinations and coordinates multiple examinations with other areas.
• Provides information concerning examination content, pre-examination instructions, and timetables.
• Acts as a liaison between physician offices and department concerning needed preps, medical necessity, information, and problems.
• Answers calls that come into the department and routes them to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Experience using computers in an office setting or doing data entry.
• Demonstrated customer service experience.
• Medical terminology or training (preferred).
• Experience in a Radiology setting (preferred).
• Bilingual (preferred).

Qualifications

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. Includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Shift Details/Times: Rotating Shifts Sunday - Saturday; 8-hour shifts starting as early as 05:30am and then every hour thereafter until the latest shift starting at 12:30pm.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$19.41 - $28.14

Schedule

Rotating Shifts Sunday - Saturday; 8-hour shifts starting as early as 05:30am and then every hour thereafter until the latest shift starting at 12:30pm.

Additional Details

Rotating holidays, so each caregiver generally works 1 major holiday a year (8 hour shift)
