About the role
The seasonal Race Operations Worker assists with track and event operations at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. Key responsibilities include track preparation, staging lane management, and drag strip duties such as ready line, water box, and start line operations. This role involves operating tractors or ATVs and ensures a safe, enjoyable experience for guests.
Responsibilities
- Aid in track preparation before and during events to maintain optimal racing conditions.
- Work in staging lanes to facilitate smooth vehicle flow and staging procedures.
- Perform drag strip duties including ready line, water box, and start line operations.
- Operate tractors, ATVs, and other equipment as needed for race operations and track maintenance.
- Maintain safety protocols and monitor track conditions to ensure guest, participant, and staff safety.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers, crew members, and other race operations personnel.
- Provide information and assistance to guests to enhance their race day experience.
- Maintain a professional, fun, and friendly atmosphere while interacting with fans and participants.
- Adapt to changing assignments and work locations throughout the facility as needed during events.
- Contribute to the overall guest experience by delivering excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support race day operations and events.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A prior background in motorsports is highly preferred.
- Able to handle high-volume sounds.
- Flexible with meal and rest periods.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, run, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and insurable under NHRA insurance policy.
- Arrive on time and ready to work at shift start.
- Able to enforce all facility policies and procedures, including start line policies, to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
- Effective under pressure and/or stringent schedules, producing accurate results.
- Works well within a team and independently.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under NHRA insurance policy.
- Must arrive on time and ready to work at shift start.
- Able to enforce all facility policies and procedures, including start line policies, to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
- Effective under pressure and/or stringent schedules, producing accurate results.
- Works well within a team and independently.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
Skills
