About the role
The Manor at Blue Water Bay is an award-winning, 5-Star CMS-rated facility located in the resort area of Blue Water Bay, Niceville, FL. We are seeking experienced nursing personnel to join our dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a 120-bed unit from 3pm-11pm, including admissions, discharges, and appointments.
- Coordinate care with families and other healthcare providers.
- Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and PCAs.
- Assure all staff have been assigned duties.
- Make rounds on each wing, focusing on high acuity patients.
- Maintain awareness of patient conditions and notify doctors and families of changes.
- Assist with medications, treatments, and IV fluids as needed.
- Assist with patient admissions as required.
- Recruit, hire, and orient new staff.
- Maintain the physical and emotional safety of patients.
- Absorb and apply professional training, follow doctor's orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Organize and prioritize work procedures, take responsibility, and manage staff schedules.
- Assist physicians during rounds.
- Perform performance evaluations of LPNs twice a year.
- Make changes to staff schedules based on absences and illnesses, and coordinate additional help as necessary.
- Carry out personnel disciplinary actions as outlined in policies.
- Maintain the security of the facility and direct unauthorized individuals to leave.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Relieve other shifts when needed.
- Be willing to assist as a CNA when needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
- Licensed to practice in this state.
- Participate in continuing education to stay updated on nursing trends and developments.
- Ability to meet performance requirements.
- Ability to learn, absorb, and apply professional training.
- Follow doctor's orders and maintain accurate records.
- Perceive changes in patient behavior and recognize symptoms.
- Communicate effectively in writing, by telephone, and in person.
- Organize work procedures, take responsibility, and manage others.
- Special interest in geriatric nursing.
Skills
