About the role

The HORIBA Group of worldwide companies is seeking a R&D Technician to join their team in Reno, NV. This exciting role involves:

Responsibilities

• Under direction of Engineers, build and operate a Plasma laboratory.
• Perform leak checking for medium to high vacuum integrity and troubleshooting of vacuum systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of testing equipment and instruments to ensure operational efficiency.
• Weld pipes and fabricate parts as required for testing setups or equipment modification.

Requirements

• Experience in fabrication and/or procurement of medium to high-vacuum systems and chamber components.
• Knowledge of high frequency (kHz to GHz) power supplies, low temperature plasma generation systems, matching networks.
• Pumping system competency, rotary, scroll, roots, turbomolecular, cryogenic.
• Versed in vacuum and gas system instrumentation, such as mass flow controllers, capacitance diaphragm gauges, residual gas analyzers.
• High competency in RF, high voltage, and general electrical power safety.
• General competency and safety knowledge with positive pressure gas delivery systems used in semiconductor.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Education in engineering, physics, chemistry, or related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum systems and plasma processing equipment.
• Experience with high voltage and RF systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
• Technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
