About the role
The purpose of this position is to execute day-to-day project activity for New Product Development through conducting experiments and gathering, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data. You will be part of an innovative R&D organization supporting both new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day research project tasks and act as internal resource for technical information pertaining sinter products of Alpha
- Work with Global R&D team to build collaborative partnerships with potential clients to develop current and future products and service value in silver sinter product line of MacdermidAlpha
- Work closely with Project managers and Marketing team in the development of new sinter products and technology
- Conduct work in formulating new sinter pastes and sinter related products; analyze data toward project direction goals and milestones; write technical reports and create presentations
- Design, supervise, and interpret quality control techniques and protocols of formulated sinter pastes and sinter related products
- Work with a team to conduct analysis related to the applications of the new products
Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry or MS in related discipline, with one to five years relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Comfortable applying core mathematical concepts fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry to solve real-world problems
- Strong problem-solving instincts: able to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions, while interpreting technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagram form and working through abstract and concrete variables alike
- Skilled at reading and interpreting business correspondence, technical procedures, and scientific/technical journals
- A confident communicator able to write clear, professional reports and correspondence, and to present information and respond to questions from senior leaders, managers, clients, customers, and the public
Skills
- Scientific Expertise: Advanced background in materials chemistry and organic synthesis, supported by a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
- Literature & Process Research: Expert at analyzing research literature to develop, optimize, and scale complex material manufacturing processes
- Analytical Instrumentation: Proficient in utilizing common analytical methods and characterization techniques to evaluate material properties
- Project Ownership: Demonstrates strong organizational skills and complete ownership of projects from conception through execution in high-paced environments
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicates tactfully and diplomatically with stakeholders, colleagues, and leadership at all organizational levels
- Compliance & Ethics: Upholds high ethical standards, strictly maintaining confidentiality and ensuring all operations align with corporate policies and legal regulations
- Technical Tools: Proficient in MS Office Suite and specialized scientific software for data analysis and reporting

Pay
The typical base salary range for this position is between $95,406 and $143,108
