About the role

Our client, a leading organization in the chemical and materials science industry, is seeking a R&D Scientist - Aerosols to join their innovative team. As a R&D Scientist - Aerosols, you will be part of the Research & Development department supporting product development and formulation optimization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, analytical thinking, and collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate, scale up, and commercialize new and existing aerosol coating technologies.
  • Design, develop, and optimize coating formulations including paints, sprays, and specialty coatings for various applications.
  • Utilize expertise in aerosol technology, propellant systems, and spray mechanisms to enhance product performance.
  • Conduct hypothesis-driven research, data analysis, and documentation to support product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business strategies and market needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific field; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Strong understanding of scientific methodology, experimental design, and data analysis.
  • Experience with coating chemistries such as alkyd, acrylic, epoxy, urethane, phenolic, polyaspartics, and sil(ox)anes.
  • Knowledge of aerosol formulation science, including propellant and valve systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively.
