About the role
The R&D Engineer III or IV provides engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs. This role focuses on oxide ceramics formulation and processing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Takes a major role in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Led individual project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
- Devise advanced research methods and documents results and procedures.
- Exercises responsibility for multiple pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
- Recommend new or upgrades to existing process and test equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company, providing guidance in his or her areas of expertise.
- Direct the activities of technicians.
- Coordinate pilot-plant or initial production runs on new products or processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field, and at least five years relevant experience.
- Or: Master’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field, and at least three years relevant experience.
- Or: PhD degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering filed.
- Hands on oxide ceramic materials formulation and processing experience highly preferred.

Benefits
Compensation ranges: EIII: $103k - $136k / EIV: $112k - $155k
