Key Duties

  • Conceptualize, formulate, develop and introduce new products based on input from sales, marketing, and management.
  • Create and develop new products in the following areas: aerosols and liquid cleaning chemistry, coatings, presaturated wipes, and all conductive materials.
  • Create applications, implement process and quality standards for new and existing products, conduct competitive testing and analysis, produce competitive selling information for sales force, and create sales support materials.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and re-formulation of existing products, new products and competitive products and provide technical reports of results as dictated by changing regulatory, financial and material requirements.
  • Test and verify new and modified products with respect to performance, safety, stability, and production feasibility.
  • Review and initiate specifications of both new and modified products in conjunction with product development manager and manage the files and BOM’s for all existing raw material, batching and aerosol specifications according to Quality requirements.
  • Work with Operations on process modifications, trouble shooting and improvements.
  • Assist Technical Service and Customer Service.
  • Provide customer-specific testing as requested.
  • Conduct training of distributors and sales personnel as needed.
  • Interact with distributors / customers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized laboratory.
  • Interpret technical papers directly related to our product offering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Degree in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry preferred
  • Master’s preferred
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; demonstrates good listening and coaching skills; able to communicate and work effectively with all levels in the organization
  • Working understanding of GHS, SDS standards and creation of SDS’s
  • Independent and organized work style: Effectively manages time and prioritizes work load, assumes and manages multiple tasks and projects without close supervision
  • Highly adaptable and capable of leading and facilitating change
  • Able to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes
  • Must possess strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in organic chemistry and will have the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, independently, and coordinate cross-functional project teams.
