R&D Chemist

About the role

The R&D Chemist will work in a laboratory setting to conduct research on new or existing product formulas with minimal supervision. Typical projects include new product development, modification of existing products, raw material evaluations, benchmarking studies, sample preparations, color matching, batch process review, and specification testing.

Responsibilities

• Adhesive formulation and development
• Current product support: Updating formulations, dealing with customer complaints/questions, maintaining certifications
• Work with project management to develop new products while driving organized development processes
• Support manufacturing when needed
• Technical lead on assigned product lines

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
• Strong ability to work on a team and drive collaboration
• Ability to present technical work to business teams and interact with outside suppliers
• Self-motivated and organized
