Job Overview

The Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Industrial Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for the full-time tenure-track Dr. Phillip C. and Mrs. Consuelo Y. Quo Endowed Professor position. The position benefits from a generous chair endowment and offers a competitive salary commensurate with candidate experience. Candidates in the broad area of Mechanical Engineering will be considered. The College of Engineering and Applied Science at UC has pioneered the mandatory cooperative experience for engineers since 1906 and has excellent connections with the industrial sector, both locally and nationally. Essential Functions

  • Develop a world-class research program in their specialty area by attracting extramural funding, advising graduate and undergraduate students on research, and publishing research results in professional journals.
  • Build externally funded joint ventures (such as multi-investigator research teams and centers) as well as strengthen partnerships with industries through research collaborations and workforce development initiatives.
  • Teach graduate and undergraduate engineering courses specific to their specialty area within Mechanical Engineering.
  • Participate in internal and external service activities such as editorial/peer review, career mentoring for students and junior faculty, and serving on departmental, college and university committees.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Doctoral Degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
