Organization Details Organization Name: Project Linus Canada - Winnipeg Chapter Address: 169 Autumnview Drive Winnipeg MB R3Y 0G6 Website: http://projectlinuscanada.org Organizational Description: Project Linus Canada is a registered Canadian charity whose mission is to make and give new, handmade blankets to local children and youth who are in need of comfort, due to trauma caused by serious illness, abuse, grief or a traumatic event. Winnipeg chapter collects new handmade blankets from a number of volunteers and distributes them to our partner organizations who work with children and youth such as Toba Centre, Spence Neighbourhood Association, Ode'min (Birthing Centre) and others. We annually donate over 500 blankets to local children and youth. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 6415 Description of Duties: Making blankets for donation. We accept blankets that are knitted, crocheted, quilted. They must be NEW and HANDMADE. You can either use your own supplies or ask us for fabric or yarn. We get both donated. Skills Required Blanket making skills. Skills Gained/Related Careers: Age: 16-17, 18-30, 31-54, 55+ Time Commitment: Remote Volunteering , Flexible Hours However long it takes you to make a blanket is fine. We accept blankets all year long.
