QUARTZ DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER (EVENINGS)

About the role

Join the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States as a Material Handler with Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. This intermediate-level position involves stocking, checking, wrapping, and loading/unloading materials in a family-friendly work environment that supports work-life balance and promotes from within.

Responsibilities

• Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Operates forklift and/or crane equipment.
• Keys orders into Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy.
• Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
• Follows standard operating procedures.
• Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules and reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to management.
• Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
• Operates wireless devices (tablet, scanners) and automated equipment.
• Conducts daily cycle counts.
• Performs receiving duties such as receiving and unloading inbound material.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 1 or more years of previous distribution/warehouse experience.
• Minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience (no experience required for pallet jack).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good record-keeping skills.
• Good listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

Working Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
• May lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average of 25 picks per hour, with weights between 40-70 lbs for 65% of the shift and 20-40 lbs for 35% of the shift.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
• Noise level is usually loud.
