QUARTZ DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER (NIGHTS)
About the role
Join Dal-Tile, the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States and a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. We are seeking an intermediate-level Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will operate powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders, convey orders to packing or shipping areas, and perform related warehouse duties.
Responsibilities
- Operates forklift and/or crane equipment to pick customer orders.
- Keys orders into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy.
- Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area.
- Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
- Follows standard operating procedures and maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules.
- Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized.
- Operates wireless devices (tablet, scanners) and automated equipment.
- Conducts daily cycle counts.
- Performs receiving duties such as unloading inbound material.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
- 1 or more years of previous distribution/warehouse experience.
- Minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience (no experience required for pallet jack).
- Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and may occasionally sit, climb, or balance. The role involves lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds. The average number of picks per hour is 25, with the average weight between 40-70 lbs. Heavier picks (50-70 lbs) account for 65% of the work shift, while lighter items (20-40 lbs) account for 35%. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The role may involve exposure to a wide range of temperatures, and the noise level is usually loud.
