About the role

The Quantum Technology Services team is seeking a Summer 2027 intern to support execution of quantum technology development activities across multiple quantum platforms. Working closely with modality leaders, Quantum AME, and manufacturing engineering teams, the intern will help coordinate development activities, track project execution, and support manufacturing readiness initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Track development lot progress across multiple quantum technology programs.
  • Coordinate experiments, split lots, and characterization activities supporting quantum development efforts.
  • Support closure of action items arising from technical reviews and project meetings.
  • Assist with execution of customer demonstrations and development milestones.
  • Interface with Fab 8 and Fab 9 engineering organizations to support development activities.
  • Support readiness reviews for tools, materials, metrology, and process flows.
  • Identify schedule risks and communicate project status to team stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings with modality teams, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering organizations, and manufacturing groups.
  • Maintain execution dashboards and project status reporting tools.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices to support future development programs.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

  • At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • English language fluency (written & verbal).
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.
  • Highly organized and action-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in rapidly evolving research and development environments.

Pay

Expected salary range: $20.00 - $40.00. The exact salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
