Quantitative Trader - Entry Level 2027

About the role
At Belvedere Trading, Quantitative Traders are some of the industry’s most quantitative problem solvers. This unique role fosters collaboration across our proprietary technology and trading teams, placing you at the forefront of technology immersion while learning best practices in software development. Quantitative Traders implement sophisticated trading strategies and focus on projects related to trading logic development, electronic trading strategies, and quantitative research. Responsibilities
- Daily trading activities – Assist with order execution, trade checking, and trade reconciliations.
- Desk strategy – Participate in strategy meetings and collaborate with your team on position management.
- Development projects – Lead and participate in specific quantitative development projects that enhance trader-facing technologies.
- Research – Engage in quantitative research and apply quantitative strategies while learning concepts behind our core market-making operations.
- Data Analysis – Perform analyses on large data sets and derive insights to support trading strategies.
- Training – Participate in continuous, hands-on training covering option valuation, game theory, hedging, portfolio analysis, and simulated trading games to learn option pricing and financial engineering, both theoretically and in practice.
- Collaborate – Partner with teammates to exchange ideas, solve problems, and contribute to a high-performing team environment.
Requirements
- Ability to live in or relocate to Chicago.
- Graduation date between December 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Strong communication skills – ability to speak confidently and concisely, especially under pressure.
- Analytical mindset – quantitative thinking and problem-solving with strong data analysis skills.
- Team player – demonstrated success working in team-based environments.
- Core development skills – training or demonstrated ability to learn programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python.
- AI fluency – ability to effectively use AI tools to improve efficiency while maintaining independent judgment.
- Knowledge of financial markets and trading industry is a plus but not required.
- For trading positions and certain engineering roles, the SIE and Series 57 licenses are required; Belvedere provides study materials and dedicated time during onboarding for certification.
- Regular and reliable attendance during business hours, with the ability to be on-site prior to the start of business occasionally.
- Ability to remain at a desk and concentrate for long periods of time.
Pay
$140,000 a year. Additionally, certain positions at Belvedere Trading are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
