Quality Technician-Level 1

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Follow all safety requirements.
• Generate Quality Notifications in the PLP Intranet.
• Conducts product inspection and testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Works with production personnel in maintaining a path of continual improvement in products and services supplied to our customers.
• Maintain good housekeeping in lab and lab areas.
• Conducts inspection and testing as prescribed in the PLP Quality Manual:
• Perform Density, Melt Index/HLMI, and Ash tests on all incoming products.
• Conduct in-process inspections for pipe extrusion a minimum of 2x per shift.
• Verify pipe dimensions on samples submitted for final inspection.
• Perform Quick Burst and Ring Tensile, within the capabilities of the lab equipment.
• Inspect finished product and mark appropriately for identification of acceptance status.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to verbally communicate with other employees.
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes.
• Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods.
• Able to work weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
