About the role
The Quality Technician I is responsible for observing and monitoring the production process to ensure products meet established quality standards. This position plays a key role in identifying defects, conducting inspections, and recommending improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality inspections on products and materials throughout the production process.
- Utilize various measurement and test equipment to perform capability studies; document process performance as required daily.
- Document and report inspection results, identifying any deviations or defects.
- Assist in the implementation of quality control procedures and improvement initiatives.
- Assist production workers on audits, inspections, and calibrations as required.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and quality assessments.
- Work closely with other team members to achieve quality goals and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate MITER Brands Guiding Principles in all business interactions.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of previous experience in quality assurance or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications and drawings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills to operate in and maintain a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
ASQ Quality Inspector or ASQ Quality Technician certification desired.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- May be required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Hand dexterity and strength.
- Prolonged sitting and terminal use.
Work Environment
- Primarily operates in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations.
Full-time position with standard working hours; occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.
Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
