Job Responsibilities
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or standards to inspect or test product throughout the manufacturing processes to determine if it is fit for conformance or customer requirements.
- Performs dimensional, attribute, performance, mechanical or chemical characteristic inspections.
- Records test data using statistical process control procedures where applicable.
- Documents reports to validate or identify details for deviations from existing standards, where and when required.
- Supports calibration of tools and gauges as required.
- Captures and coordinates activities related to Material Review Board (MRB) or supports as directed.
- Supports containment and/or sorting activities as requested for external or internal sorts as directed by the quality department leadership.
Job Skills
- Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.
- Ability to determine product status based on test and inspection results.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints as applicable to the manufacturing of metals.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in manufacturing or engineering.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Some physical demand; occasionally lifts light to medium-weight material.
- Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 25 lbs/1-11 kgs) material.
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
