Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs routine visual inspection of partially complete, complete, or packaged products per procedure, specification, print, catalog, and/or visual standard.
  • Performs inspection of product per procedure, specification or print using basic measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape, height gage, etc.) and functional testing (measuring current/voltage using multimeter and/or measuring impedance using an impedance analyzer).
  • Performs review of product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and GMP requirements.
  • Evaluates EXOGEN devices returned due to field complaints. Must be able to reason through the analysis to determine the cause of product failure.
  • Completes documentation of inspection results and special studies when required.
  • Uses inventory management software to perform work-in-process, inventory transactions and SPC data collection.
  • Completes documentation using good documentation practices (GDP) and records deviation data in appropriate systems.
  • Performs all related duties as defined by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus’ Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or two years education from technical school in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Electronics Technician.
  • Some experience in a position involving inspecting parts to drawings using measuring instruments (micrometer and calipers).
  • Completion of courses or working knowledge of Algebra and Trigonometry, General Manufacturing Processes, and Quality Control Instruments.
  • Position will require the use of calipers, micrometers, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use or learn SAP and other PC programs.
  • Ability to analyze information and assess issues.
