Job Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for the administrative activities associated with processing warranty claims and resolving customers' concerns on product failures. This position may be stationed at a specific customer for extended periods of time during new product launches.
Responsibilities
- Service/repair/replace HVAC systems on buses when required
- Work closely with the Valeo TCV (Thermal Commercial Vehicles) Engineering and Quality teams to address customer concerns
- Perform Quick Response Quality Control process to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a permanent dialogue with quality staff at the customer site
- Communicate customer expectations to site
- Conduct full maintenance training courses on various heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for transit bus and school bus systems to mechanics, technicians and management teams
- Train other team members on various maintenance practices for the various systems offered by Valeo TCV
- Meet regularly with the North American Service Manager to provide status on completed work
- Attend internal meetings as needed
- Complete field service and training reports and file with North American Service Manager timely and accurately
- Follow standards and work instructions and support the creation of standards when needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and standards including, but not limited to, performing tasks safely, wearing required personal protective equipment, maintaining a clean working area and implementing safety improvements
- Escalate challenges and impediments to meeting customer's expectations
- Maintain highest security protocols to keep sensitive and protected customer and or company information confidential and secured
- Maintain professional and positive relations with team members
- Comply with all company conduct rules
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (college degree is preferred)
- Work experience with repairs of automotive heating and air conditioning units
- Work experience with root cause analysis quality systems preferred
- Knowledge of 600V + electrical systems or ability to read a wiring diagram
- Ability to read technical drawings and prints
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Detail oriented and accurate
- High degree of accountability and ownership
- Strong organization skills
- Proficiency in computer software- Microsoft Office, Google, etc.
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to satisfy customers
