About the role

The Quality Technician position at Timken is designed to contribute directly to the company's mission of improving the efficiency of industrial equipment and preparing for future advancements in motion. Responsibilities

  • Perform audits to verify procedures against work instructions and ensure bearings and supporting documentation are completed in compliance with applicable work instructions.
  • Ensure Components and Final Inspectors adhere to work instructions and properly document their inspections.
  • Verify that the latest issues of work instructions are being used and that personnel are properly certified and using appropriate gaging techniques.
  • Report findings to the Quality Manager in accordance with IP233.
  • Conduct audits on manufacturing, cleaning, and acceptance processes to ensure adherence to work instructions.
  • Work with other employees and customers to solve problems and take a leadership role in resolving issues.
  • Ensure products and supporting documentation meet applicable work instructions for release to Timken customers, including completing first article reviews and customer-specific web-based applications.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and assist in maintaining good housekeeping practices.
  • Coordinate and collate completed quality documents for electronic storage.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic mathematical and mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of blueprints, drawings, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Basic computer interface skills, including MS Office.
