About the role
Sanmina Corporation is a leading integrated manufacturing solutions provider serving various electronics markets. This position involves quality control and assurance tasks, including creating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and interpreting customer requirements.Responsibilities
- Create FAIR and other dimensional inspection reports for manufactured printed circuit boards.
- Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and other customer requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate with various departments to gather objective evidence for FAIR reports.
- Work with minimal supervision after completing company Quality and Safety training.
- Navigate internal company software and database systems to gather information.
- Accurately complete FAIR and other dimensional inspection reports.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Work effectively with and communicate with departments such as Front End Engineering, Production Control, Manufacturing, QC Inspection, and Delegated Source Inspection.
- Summarize and communicate potential areas of non-conformance to Quality and/or Manufacturing management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, assembly drawings, blueprints, Bills of Material (BOM), and specifications.
- Apply foundational knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to interpret drawing callouts.
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased components and raw materials.
- Document all non-conformances found during inspection, issue Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs), and segregate defective parts.
- Apply final Quality Control approval (stamps, labels, stickers) only to verified, conforming products in strict adherence to company policy.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection logs and reports in the quality system.
- Interface with Production and Engineering teams to clearly communicate quality issues.
Requirements
- Associate level or certificate in related field
- Experience and familiarity with PCBAs
- 4-6 years related experience in Quality, including 1-3 years previous FAI experience; 1-3 years print reading experience
- Good understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems
- Strong working knowledge of inspection methods including sampling plans and testing and inspection equipment
- Ability to interpret product specifications
- Thorough attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently most of the workday
- Ability to work well as a team or with other departments when needed
- Moderate general computer skills using MS Office products: Word, Excel, PDF
