Quality Technician

About the role

The Quality Technician position at Olympic Steel involves conducting routine tests and inspections on products, assisting with data collection and supplier claims, performing capability studies, first-piece inspections, and recording results. The technician also supports ISO compliance and training, working closely with production employees to ensure quality control and participating in special projects as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, and reading a tape measure
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
• Experience with various computer systems, including ERP Systems or online quality systems
• Previous experience in CNC, Laser Burning, or Oxyfuel Burning preferred

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, further education preferred

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Knowledge of quality assurance and ISO standards
