About the Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Quality Technician to join our team at OMAX in Kent, Washington. Our Waterjet team is looking for an experienced Quality Technician to perform inspections, audits, gauge use/calibration, and troubleshooting activities. To be successful in this role you should work well in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to quickly learn/adapt and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform activities such as measurement, inspection, gauge tracking, calibrations, audits, and troubleshooting
- Communicate effectively to internal customers
- Understand and apply basic quality tools (5Why, Pareto Analysis, Check Sheets, etc.)
- Perform tasks using basic skills in mathematics, metrology, calibration, and quality
- Provide support to other Associates in gauge/instrument use, troubleshooting, and repair
- Be an active part of continuous improvement activities such as kaizen, 3P, and other lean events
- Perform tasks following the control of non-conforming material process
Requirements
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated competence in the use of quality procedures, measurement systems, and print reading
- Accurate and well-organized work, good documentation, attention to detail, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively when relaying technical information
- Desire and drive to obtain ASQ quality certifications
- Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CMM/PCDMIS programming/troubleshooting experience is heavily preferred
- CQT or CQI Certification
- Proficiency with interpreting standards (Y14.5M)
- Ability to train and mentor others
- Gagetrak
- Minitab
- Solidworks
- 6-sigma/Lean certifications
Pay
Base hourly pay range: $23.92 - $39.89 per hour upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (hours may flex based on business need).
