Quality Technician
Position Overview
Position Overview: As a Quality Technician on the Mercury Racing team, you will provide strategic and tactical support to Operations, Engineering and Procurement by executing various quality activities as outlined below.
Essential Functions
- Perform supplier/sister plant development activities, driving Corrective Actions, elimination of errors and improvement of efficiency.
- Complete internal auditing to ISO standard.
- Troubleshoot particularly complex or troublesome production problems and drive corrective action.
- Support enterprise Nonconforming Material Process as Required.
- Cover conduct Part containment, MRB review, internal/external supplier notification, part disposition and subsequent corrective actions.
- Organize and direct quality spill and containment activities for both internal and external sources.
- Create standardized work instructions, quality alerts and applicable training for engine/component assembly.
- Lead role in ensuring plant wide tool calibration is conducted in a timely manner.
- Engage with the global supply base/Internal operations to assist in developing and ensuring that all direct purchased materials meet specification requirements, and do so over time to eliminate line downs, project delays, recalls, or other quality failures resulting in customer dissatisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, operations, or quality engineering
- Familiarity with GD&T and the ability to read & understand blueprints, tolerances and symbols
- Understanding of quality concepts: basic quality tools and problem-solving techniques
- Knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning to support the Product Development process (PPAP)
- Working knowledge Of ISO 9001:2015
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in a specialized technical/scientific field
- ASQ certified Quality Technician or Auditor
- Lever six sigma Green or Black Belt certification with project experience
- Thorough knowledge of inspection techniques, metrology methods, tolerances, blueprint reading, routings, S.P.C. techniques, personal computers, and general shop practices.
- CMM knowledge/operation
- Working knowledge of DC tooling and advanced gaging
Pay Range
The anticipated pay range for this position is $42,500 - $63,600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program.
