General Responsibility

Will promote a quality culture through leadership and training in quality best practices.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

  • Support the Quality and Operations (OPEX) teams with quality best practices.
  • Complete startup / last article inspections.
  • Audit / Inspect and report on in-process and manufactured products.
  • (Finished Goods, NP Components and Supplied items).
  • Make decisions on the acceptability/non-acceptability of manufactured/packaged products.
  • Use defect categories critical / major / minor to make sound business decisions.
  • Contain all non-conforming product(s) to the last known “acceptable inspection point”.
  • Communicate non-conformance(s) and /or trending conditions to support teams.
  • Interpret drawings, quality plans and control plans.
  • Act as the “Voice of Quality” and facilitate solutions in “real time” with the cross functional team.
  • Record inspection and audit results and communications on the Batch Record.
  • Perform inspection activities reporting on process and product performance.
  • Perform inspections of NP and FG product lots to defined AQL and sampling methods.
  • Provide follow up and verification activities in support of corrective actions and/or process adjustments.
  • Coach, train, and mentor the fundamentals of Quality to coworkers and cross functional team members.

Minimum Requirements

  • Physically able to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach & lift to 50 pounds.
  • Physically able to stand on feet for 12-hour shift.
  • Need to have workplace flexibility and adapt to change regarding how and when work gets done to include hours and location.
  • Minimum of (6) months working in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to prioritize issues as they occur.
  • Must have accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.
  • Forklift certified (will train if not certified, need to be willing).
  • Basic computer and math skills, including fractions and decimals required.
  • Proficient in the SAP and MATTEC systems.
  • Able to work well with others and be a team member.
  • Able to use measurement equipment: micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Wear/ use all required PPE, to include, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves (when cutting or moving pallets), proper footwear (as outlined in the employee handbook), etc.
