About the role
Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Quality Technical Analyst to join our Quality department based in Kinston, NC. The ideal candidate will be part of a team that manufactures critical aircraft components.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate defects from the shop floor to the engineering lab.
- Interface with employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Understand and align the build process with engineering requirements.
- Develop and document quality systems and operating procedures.
- Support supplier-related hardware inspections and document FAI reports.
- Coordinate and improve manufacturing processes.
- Conduct design reviews and configuration audits.
- Analyze process capability data and perform trend analyses.
- Perform configuration audits and reviews of products, tools, and processes.
- Compile and measure process capability data, models, and perform risk assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Aerospace or Automotive industry.
- At least 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or manufacturing industry.
- Willingness to work second shift or weekends (12-hour shifts).
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to understand the build process, engineering requirements, and ensure alignment.
- Must have the capability to work with the team to develop PFMEAs and control plans.
- Must have knowledge of quality policies and practices to develop, document, and maintain quality systems and operating procedures.
- Must have the ability to perform design reviews, configuration audits, and configuration reviews.
- Must have the ability to compile, measure, and analyze process capability data, models, and perform trend analyses and risk assessments.

Schedule
Second shift or weekend schedule (12-hour shifts).
Physical Requirements
- Onsite: 100%
- Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
- Hearing: Daily able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: Weekly able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Lifting: Weekly able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Pushing / Pulling: Weekly able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
- Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
- Squatting / Kneeling: Weekly able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
- Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Walking: Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
- Travel: 5% domestic/international travel.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
