Quality Tech - 3rd shift

Duties And Responsibilities

• Preform inspections and qualify control tests to ensure quality standards and adherence to specifications
• Appropriately understand and follow the plant’s OHSE and quality systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product
• Inspect and test incoming raw materials
• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customer’s specifications
• Maintain appropriate records of tests, inspection results, and observations
• Notify production personnel of deviations in product quality.
• Mark deviant products appropriately
• Absorb with set-up and clean-up of all presses when machine is down
• Help site meet quality objectives
• Frequently use and navigate several software systems (Quality Data Results, Inventory, Documentation, Audits, Training, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Some continued education preferred (i.e. Chemistry background)
• 1-3 years quality control experience preferred
• Computer Skills: Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use gauges and calipers

• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear
• Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme heat
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
