Duties/Responsibilities
- C Conduct on-site and remote supplier audits to ensure compliance with contractual, engineering, and quality system requirements (ISO/AS standards).
- A Assess supplier capabilities and identify risks.
- I Initiate, track, and close Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
- C Work closely with suppliers to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- E Evaluate First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, inspection records, certifications, and other quality documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements.
- V Verify that incoming materials and components meet specifications. Coordinate with internal QA and production teams on acceptance, rejection, or containment actions.
- M Monitor supplier quality metrics such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and responsiveness. Partner with suppliers to improve performance and reduce defects.
- V Validate that supplier processes for structural, mechanical, and composite components meet design specifications and industry standards.
- R Work with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues and support new product introductions or changes.
- E Evaluate new and existing suppliers for quality risk, capability, and capacity. Support supplier selection and approval processes.
- D Document supplier performance, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- P Provide regular reporting to leadership on supplier quality trends and risks.
Basic Requirements
- B Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field
- S 5-7+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Quality, or Production
- T Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- P Proven experience working directly with external suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Q Strong background in supplier audits, quality management, and corrective action processes
- P Support incoming inspection, supplier development, and risk mitigation efforts
- H Strong understanding of composite materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, and bonded structures
- L Familiarity with non-destructive inspection (NDI/NDT) methods for composites (ultrasonic, visual, tap testing, etc.)
- D High attention to detail and inspection accuracy
- A Ability to make independent quality decisions in a fast-paced sustainment environment
- C Strong communication skills for clearly documenting and escalating issues
Preferred Qualifications
- C Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
- A ASQ certifications
- N NDT certification
- S Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent)
- R Experience with root cause analysis tools.
