About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the process of developing and implementing a quality production program to ensure conformity of all extruded material and PVC pipe to quality standards.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Assurance Manual with high attention to detail.
  • Review quality trends, track root causes of problems, and coordinate correction procedures.
  • Analyze all product returns from the field through direct interaction with customers.
  • Provide technical and quality support to Supervisors and Plant Manager.
  • Oversee inspection and testing of finished products.
  • Initiate and recommend procedures for continuous improvement, including establishing new or revised quality standards, inspection methods, and process controls.
  • Supervise and enforce quality document control and record-retention requirements; direct personnel to review and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Train plant personnel in quality requirements, including critical characteristics, measurement tools, and aesthetic attributes.
  • Oversee the site quality measurement and calibration program; establish, issue, calibrate, and maintain all quality and shift measurement tools and related records.
  • Maintain and administer controlled reference documentation for production operations, including standards for creation, revision control, distribution, and periodic review of product drawings and packaging instructions.
  • Prepare for and respond to company audits.
  • Coordinate and approve all sample submissions of new product and engineering changes.
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct the duties and responsibilities of all quality assurance personnel.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree preferred; coursework in mathematics, statistics, and industrial practices required.
  • 3-5 years of quality control experience required.
  • 5 years of practical experience in PVC extrusion preferred.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:

  • Wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
  • Fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
