About the Role

Primary Quality contact within Quality Lab areas. Assist Quality personnel with inspection of product while collaborating with other departments to perform root cause investigations on issues. Lead Quality personnel through issues, providing guidance on product and processes to increase overall team knowledge. Assist in developing standards and systems for the Quality department and monitoring adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Quality lab-related issues and personnel to support Production activities.
  • Set up, program, and operate advanced measurement equipment.
  • Lead root cause investigations and assemble cross-functional teams for major Quality findings.
  • Provide training to Quality personnel related to prints, inspections, and equipment usage.
  • Develop tracking metrics to evaluate and improve team performance.
  • Analyze inspection data to confirm accuracy.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external customers and interface as appropriate.
  • Confirm completion of required forms and records, dimensional inspection reports, and check sheets.
  • Examine blueprints and drawings to determine the best methods to evaluate product characteristics.
  • Perform accurate and precise layout inspections on product, fixtures, or molds, including first article layouts, gage reproducibility/repeatability studies, and capability studies to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
  • Participate in the design and development of inspection fixtures for machine layout programs.
  • Support Production, Engineering, and Tooling activities in achieving the highest quality parts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three (3) years of job-related experience in Quality Assurance. An Associate’s degree may be substituted for up to 50 percent of this requirement.
  • Technical math skills and problem-solving ability using proper methodology.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including utilization of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with common hand-held measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a regular basis.
