About the Role

Internships at Mueller Sports Medicine (MSM) typically begin in late May through early September. We seek academically strong candidates with a passion for their field of study, offering opportunities in marketing, purchasing, logistics, information technology (IT), finance and accounting, or customer service. Interns will engage virtually and/or in-person with associates, vendors, and customers to explore future career opportunities. If the internship is taken for credit, MSM will accommodate any recordkeeping or evaluation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform key quality assurance (QA) and regulatory affairs (RA) activities as assigned, including:
    • Nonconformance (NC) handling
    • Training activities
    • Process improvement activities
    • Product validations
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) assessments
  • Work with department leadership to oversee all regulatory and compliance-related efforts, including internal support for review and response to inquiries from government agencies, customers, or vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed one year of post-high school education and enrolled for the fall semester at a technical college or four-year university.
  • Pursuing a degree in a field of study related to the area of the internship.
  • Grade point average sufficient to be considered in good academic standing.
  • Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience or internships in the field or a related field of the internship.

  • Advanced use of Microsoft products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, and related industry applications.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Responsible for appropriately protecting the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the organization’s systems and data, as well as client data.

Physical Requirements

  • Ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand or sit, bend or stoop, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light weights of up to 20 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment, and read.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.
  • Frequent typing.
  • Limited business travel, including operation of a motor vehicle.
