Responsibilities
This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
- Records critical “in process” parameters in forge environment including:
- Optical pyrometer readings for tooling and material (on and off die) temperature.
- Furnace soak times and forging time as well as ramp-up time.
- Extracts rolling parameters and tonnage data from specific ring-roll mills/presses.
- Reports any “in process” non-conformances to the Quality Department and other appropriate parties.
- Maintains and archives documentation as per company procedures.
- Interprets blueprints and measures parts in accordance with blueprints.
- Interfaces with other departments.
- Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety, and quality procedures.
- Performs furnace pyrometry activities (i.e. SAT’s, furnace inspection, etc).
- Supports calibration of furnaces, tools, and optical pyrometers.
- Performs Quality Forge and Forge Furnace Audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Must have correctable vision to meet the requirements of company work instructions and procedures. Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum two years of manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible work hours to accommodate forging schedule.
Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay
$22-24/hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
